Italian Festival in Naples: throughout the theater in a Castle

All the theater in a castle will be the site of the monumental complex of St. Elmo, Naples, the heart of the eighth Italian Festival which will open on June 3 on the Piazza d’Armi of the ancient fortress in the hills with “The Doucer permeable de la Rose” by Paco Decina (until June 5). Five spaces theatrical set up, the arena outside the large auditorium, the hall of the guns and in the ambulatory. Great news programming the festival circuit, the readings at sunset in front of the breathtaking views of the Gulf and its islands (Rubini, Morante, Bentivoglio, Baliani, Celestini, Placido, some of the protagonists), plays and dance performances at one of the sites most fascinating cities. In Sant’Elmo every day you can also watch a performance of the parallel “E45 Fringe Festival” devoted to independent companies and participate in meetings of the after-festival with jazz and swing music. The program NTFI offers 62 shows, the first 32 of which 11 presented by foreign companies, 30 innovations selected by the Fringe, in eight theaters, plus Castel Sant ‘Elmo and Mostra d’Oltremare. The inaugural show of Paco Decina, Neapolitan naturalized French, was inspired by a residence in an Antarctic archipelago. Among the events of dance also “Afrodiota y el juicio de Paris” show event of La Fura dels Baus (June 13-Overseas Exhibition). Among the most anticipated international shows “An Enemy of the People” by Ibsen signed by Thomas Ostermeier (June 12 to 13, Politeama) and “Hallo” bt Swiss Martin Zimmermann (11 and 13 June Mercadante). Among the Italian productions, include “Cold sweat” of Giancarlo Sepe (4-9 June Elmo); “Butterflay suite” of and with Cristina Donadio and Lalla Esposito, a tribute to Marilyn Monroe and Mia Martini (June 6 to 7, St. Elmo); the preview of the “La bottega del Caffè” by Goldoni in setting Maurizio Scaparro with Pino Micol and music by Nicola Piovani that immediately after Naples (June 8 to 9, Mercadante) will be at the “Piccolo” in Milan for Expo 2015, “Cassandra party Wedding variations on the myth 2” by Laura Angiulli that will see three different actresses play the same character: on stage Alessandra D’Elia, Maria Pia De Vito, Caterina Spadaro (Galleria Toledo, June 15 to 17). The parallel events also “Aperifestival with artist” in the foyer of the various theaters. The event is organized by the Foundation of Campania festival chaired by Luigi Grispello.
