On Valentine’s Day the Treasure of San Gennaro shines until midnight! Even the richest of museum exhibitions of Partenope adhere to the “Night of Lovers”, an initiative promoted by the Culture and Tourism for the City of Naples, together with the Academy of Fine Arts to involve museums and representative of the city (churches, theaters , historic buildings and squares ) on the day traditionally dedicated to all lovers (and not) for an evening of love and art.
On 14 February, the museum complex on Via Duomo – the place where they kept the thousands and thousands of gold and precious that over the centuries, the faithful and pilgrims have donated to the patron saint of Naples – will remain open until 12.00 pm offering a rich and varied program of events organized during the whole weekend. And not only that. It starts, in fact, this afternoon, at 18.30 , with the appointment “Telling the Art”, visit picturesque reading, with the Muse Clio and the Singers of the Art, in the company of Goethe and Stendhal.
Along the course of the exhibition “Fire and Passion”, one of the masterpieces of San Gennaro, the ancient lava stone artefacts and gouaches of the Vesuvius Observatory, the visitor will experience the emotions of music and words through the most beautiful pages written on Naples and its two cores, San Gennaro and the Vesuvius, the two protagonists of the historical sublime “grand tour”. Telling the Arts will depart every hour from 6.30 pm, the special cost of 3 €.

Saturday, however, starting at 10.30 am, kicks off “Sketch Art”, an educational workshop that offers an intimate and personal way of living and interpret a work of art. Artemis will guide visitors, step by step, before the discovery of the proportions, lines, shadows and lights of various masterpieces, then, exploring a detail, teach them, finally, to draw it on a card, with blood pencils, charcoal and lacquer. One way to admire the beauty, but also to gain new skills, having fun and creating your “own” work of art. Draw the Arts is a workshop by appointment, lasting about 2 hours, at a cost of 15 € (inclusive of guided tour of the exhibition and drawing materials).
Finally on Sunday at 10.30 am, room for the “Visit dramatized” by the historians of Culture Felix. Visitors will be guided through the exhibition of the exhibition to discover the art of San Gennaro, the most important eruptions of Vesuvius and of the objects and antique survey instruments Vesuvius Observatory.
