At the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the elixir of beauty

Il Teatro San Carlo di Napoli

An elixir of beauty in…the beauty inside. “There is nothing in the whole of Europe that even comes close to this theater, but it gives the idea. The eyes are dazzled, enraptured soul” Stendhal wrote in 1817 about the “Massimo Parthenopaeus“. And words were never more true than to illustrate the splendor and magnificence of the oldest opera house in Europe: the Theatre San Carlo of Naples (it was founded in 1737 by Carlo III of Borbone). Well to find out the “temple of the beautiful music” and admire it as well as you’ve never seen, Focus Art Napoli offers a special visit to the secular system in Naples. And it does so on the eve of the representation of “L’elisir d’Amore” by Gaetano Donizetti, scheduled for the day Sunday, October 5. This event is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday, October 4), starting from 4.00 pm (the reservation is obligatory) for a breathtaking journey, light semispente, in the heart of the secular architectural gem in Piazza Trieste e Trento, with its load of stories past and present, and the possibility to admire the scene ready for the melodrama of the day later. In short: an opportunity not to be missed. For truly “there is nothing quite like it in beauty…“.
