Nine flags to tell the robbers of Naples. Continues with the exhibition “Brigands”, curated by Beppe Palomba for the Accademia della Bussola, the exhibition project “Interstitial Spaces: Banners at the Pan”. More than a gallery, a real spectacle for those who will pass in front of the Palazzo Roccella, the building of Via dei Mille which houses the Palazzo delle Arti Napoli (Pan): nine large banners will come down from the balconies of the third plan to cover the front of the building, with evocative images created especially to commemorate a phenomenon such as banditry and its social and cultural roots.

Brigands” follows a first experiment carried out in December 2012, when, with “Aprotepein”, the facade of Pan was plastered with banners dedicated to the theme of “good luck” to the ominous prophecy of the Maya exorcism.

In the wake of the positive findings of this exhibition, the artists Dario de Cristofaro, Amedeo Grazioso, Carmen Lietz, Morena Beatrice Mennella, Pagina 49, Ariane Schuchardt, Anita Scola, Giorgio Scotti, Giuseppe Sticchi and Rosario Vesco have grappled with the “brigands”, figures suspended somewhere between myth and history, a bit patriots, a little outlaw, well representative of the South and its contradictions.

The show will be visible every day, 24 hours on 24, on the facade of the Pan until the end of January 17. In addition, the installation is completed , the originals of the works (the “sketches”) chosen to be admired inside the Palazzo delle Arti in the Sala del Piano.

The cycle “Interstitial Spaces” still provides similar two exhibitions : “Fairy Tales and Mermaids” , February 12, and “Ex Voto” starting in March.
