A “grand tour” of art in the heart of the faith. Kicks off tomorrow, by the Cultural Assodipendenti – Terramia Naples, the unprecedented historical-artistic emblematic title: “Faith and Culture in the heart of Neapolis“, to learn about the Church of Monte Real Manso.
For years the seat of the Seminary of Nobles, run by the Jesuits, the church is part of the Foundation Monte Real Manso, and has the distinction of being the third floor of a palace : Palazzo d’ Plagued Scanno. Moreover, since even more impressive and surprising, is located above the Cappella San Severo, one of the most famous of all treasure of Naples, taking shape, in this way, as one of the many jewels in Partenope mae yet to be discovered.
The route proposed by the states stems from the desire to want to make it even more usable one of the most interesting historical sites, from the cultural point of view, but less well-known, the capital, correlating it with other art-historical reality of the place where it is located. For this reason, “Faith and Culture in the heart of Neapolis” will examine and scrutinize the entire area of the piazzetta Nile with the Church of Sant’Angelo a Nilo and the Statue of the Nile, delving into the origins of the city greek -Roman and analyzing at the same time, important buildings that will meet along the route, such as the Church of Santa Maria Donnaromita, the Church of Santa Maria in Verginella and the Church of Santi Andrea and Marco in Nilo used, the latter by a community of religion Orthodox Romania.

Path is the central hub of the Church of Gesù Vecchio, first church of the Jesuits and one of the most precious treasures, but lesser known Partenope. Built in the ancient Collegio Massimo, the church is, in fact, a true jewel of Neapolitan art, boasting sumptuous marble decorations, sculptures and paintings, made by the most important artists in Naples in the second half of the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. And what of his extraordinary crib-size, one of the original made in Naples by the school of Giuseppe Sammartino? The work will be open exclusively for the cultural path, since, usually, is accessible only during the Christmas season.
The route will end at the College of Nobles of which the Jesuits were responsible and where we will visit the Church of the Real Mount Manso in which it is stored, among other important works, the “Christ Revealed“, by Giuseppe Corcione, placed perpendicular to the valuable “veiled Christ” by Giuseppe Sammartino.
