“Toto et la France” is the title of the original festival hosted by Grenoble, Via Crispi in Naples, Tuesday 14 (18 pm) and Wednesday, April 15 (from 16), on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of the death of the unforgettable Prince Antonio de Curtis. The great Neapolitan actor, symbol of the comic, but also of the human condition, has met several times France during his long career, which is why, thanks to the valuable work of the historian of cinema, Augusto Sainati, the French Institute, in collaboration with the Association Piazza Totò, organized a two days to invite, Neapolitan and not only, to discover (in the Italian version) movies in which the artist has crossed authors, actors and themes French. By renowned filmmaker Christian-Jaque to Fernandel through Louis De Funès. For the occasion, will be projected films “The law is the law”, “The Two Orphans”, which incorporates a symbolic drama of the French theater, “Totò in Paris”, which compares De Curtis with the great French actor Fernand Grevey and “Totò, Eva and brush prohibited”, which compares Totò to Louis de Funès, expert of Goya, in a film ever released in France. At the time, De Funès filed a process, not accepting that the Neapolitan actor was relegated to the background on the poster. The film was released on dvd and then in France only in 2005, to give what is Totò Totò… Expected, after the screenings, debates on the topic with the audience in the hall.
