Noblewomen, artists, a saint and a few prisoners return all to live at the Castel Sant ‘Elmo. Between stories, legends and counter-charms in the manor of the hill of Naples is staged “Castrum“. Saturday, September 28 to 20, on the occasion of the European Heritage Day. The traveling show is made just to be realized within the walls of Castel Sant’Elmo, by the theater company “The Song of Partenope” and it’s free. The scenes are developed between the parade ground, the cells, the drawbridge and the bends of the fortress of Vomero.
The vices and virtues of famous people who have passed through Naples as Luisa Sanfelice, Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca, Charles V and Tommaso Campanella are the protagonists of the unique theatrical performances and museum designed by the company directed by Maurizio Mauro Palumbo. Magic and ancient atmosphere, revive the museum spaces, a way to exploit them even more and in a non-static. And so the castle comes alive with the reincarnation of souls who have lived there: who as founder, who as king and who as a prisoner. Fate that befell Tommaso Campanella, Luigia San Felice and Eleonora Pimentel Fonseca during the revolution of 1799. It starts from the entrance of the fortress, until you get to the museum of 900.
The event, which coincides with the European Heritage Day, is free.
