The petition to request the inclusion of the Art of Pizza in the “Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage” compiled by UNESCO, launched by Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio on Change.org, with the support of Coldiretti, Association Pizzaiuoli Neapolitans and Rossopomodoro, reached in just a few months 200,000 accessions. The first signatures were delivered to the President of the Italian Commission Unesco Giovanni Puglisi, at the headquarters of UNESCO in Rome Piazza Firenze by Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, president of the Foundation UniVerde; Roberto Moncalvo, president of Coldiretti; Franco Manna, President of SEBETO S.p.A; Sergio Miccù, President of the APN (Association of Neapolitan pizza makers); Giuseppe Castiglione, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and Elio Lannutti, President OF Adusbef. Game of September from Naples Pizza Village, the petition has gone around Italy, collecting the accessions of politicians, journalists, actors, directors and singers (including, among others: Ilary Blasi, Jimmy Ghione, Roberto Maroni, Renzo Arbore, Eugenio Bennato, Pif, Vittorio Sgarbi, Sergio Chiamparino, Luciana Littizzetto, Gianluca Galletti and Stefania Giannini). But also of many sports including neapolitan football players Totò Di Natale and Fabio Quagliarella, and the whole team of Pisa. The petition was also launched in London and New York getting the signature of Lidia and Joe Bastianich, Bud Spencer and Natalia Quintavalle, Consul General of Italy in New York.
