Doors open for the night of the museums in Naples

Ready to spend an unusual evening, full of charm , culture and art? The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 30 in Naples, between the green avenues of the Capodimonte Museum and the historic hilltop fortress of Castel Sant ‘Elmo, art venues taking part in the “Night at the Museum”, sponsored by Ministry of Heritage and cultural Activities and Tourism. The exhibition includes every end of the month, tours of cultural development overtime to enable citizens and tourists to discover new aspects of the heritage and history of the boot region by region.

At the event takes part also region Campania, that in Naples opens the doors of two museum sites of excellence.

From 20 to 23.30, there is the opportunity to take part in a truly unique journey into the majestic complex of the Palace of Capodimonte, by the students of Museology, Department of Humanities , University of Naples Federico II, which will be guides for overnight visitors .

At the entrance of the complex that houses the finest Collection Farnese, four stations will be positioned to start making up as many paths guided tour accompanied by information on the history of the palace, the various collections and individual works on display.

It starts with the Neapolitan section 800 on the mezzanine level , with the permanent Manifesti Mele containing the works donated to the museum by the heirs of Emiddio and Alfonso Mele, enlightened entrepreneurs proponents of the namesake department stores.

Continue on the first floor of the sumptuous halls of the Royal, to climb all the way up to the second floor where the tapestries in the collection of d’Avalos light and embellish the ancient halls. Finally ends in style with the contemporary interpretation of Vesuvius according to Andy Warhol.

In this great celebration of culture, even the queen of bodily space: the dance that will be featured in the environments of Castel Sant’Elmo with the performance of the ballet company “Ivir Danza” choreographed to the music of Irma Cardano masters Max Richter, Olafur Arnalds and Antonio Vivaldi.

From 20:30 until 22:00 , the dancers of the dance school will hover between the spaces of Piazza d’Armi, and those of the Museum of the twentieth century, the new project that brings together some 170 works by 90 artists from Naples in honor of the tradition of so called short century .
