Christmas in Procida? You live in…taxi! Discovering the crips of Arturo’s island. Procida is a candidate as a destination for year-end holidays with a full calendar of events developed by the City. It starts December 15 and ends January 6, 2014, the day the festival of the Epiphany with “A spasso nella tradizione” food and wine tastings, art exhibitions crib, plays, Christmas markets, a charming nativity scene, meetings, concerts, tombola. And so much more to charm tourists and visitors. Two pieces of news that will make Christmas extra special Procida: the new lighting to illuminate the paths opened the island’s cultural historian, and the large ice rink built for the “Procida On Ice” Piazza Marina Grande, commissioned by the City and made in partnership with the InSport Group srl. From December 15 to 29, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you will go for cribs with “Presepe in Tour”: a free taxi ride to visit all the “holy nativity” of the island, an initiative co-funded by the Region of Campania.

Throughout the holiday season the island’s museums will be open for “Natale Musei aperti”: the Museum of the Mysteries at the Museum of Terra Murata and Graziella at the Palace of Culture. There will also be music and entertainment: Concert Povia and the national premiere of the show by Sandro Dionisio “Il coro negato”, dedicated to the artist Antonio Neilwiller, who long resided in Procida, on the twentieth anniversary of his death. For the children there will be many initiatives with street performers, games and tombola, entertainment, parades masks of the most beloved, the Treasure Hunt and the National Theatre of Puppetry of the Ancient Family Ferraiolo, the most famous theater in the world. On December 31, the “Auguri in piazza” to round off 2013 and January 1, the traditional New Year’s Concert.
