The one on display is a photographic investigation proposed by photographer Franco- Cuban Ana Gloria Cuban Salvia focused on the architecture of the twentieth century. The series of images, far from having an intention of cataloging the architectural styles of Cuban modern, comes from the observation of a reinforced concrete building well known that struck the imagination of the artist. The building is immortalized Focsa. In 2011, studying the history of the structure, the photographer discovered that he had been one of the palaces in the world’s tallest reinforced concrete built until then. Ana began from that time to be concerned with aspects of Cuban less known and less studied.
Through the photographs of the body of work carried out, Gloria Salvia tries to share the ecstasy that the exploration of the pure geometry of architectural forms cause in his imagination, as well as choosing a favorite subject of photographic surveys, some buildings of this architectural period. Buildings that insist on the value of the Cuban colonial architectural style often leaves in the shade.
At the press preview, will be present, together with the artist Ana Gloria Salvia and the curator Maria Savarese, Councillor for Culture and Tourism of the City of Naples Nino Daniele and will be presented to the press catalog published by Editions Paparo, with texts by Maria Savarese, architect and photographer Ferrante Ferranti, the architect Ricardo Porro, Professor Alessandro Castagnaro and architect Florian Castiglione.
