Pomigliano Jazz, touring festival in the footsteps of the Grand Tour

A jazz festival traveling on the Grand Tour: George Benson with the premiere of the Roman Amphitheatre of Avella July 10th kicks off the 19/edition of the “Pomigliano Jazz in Campania” which combines music itineraries in the most Vesuvius and the beautiful high Nola with exceptional location Villa Cappelli in Pollena Trocchia, the Paleo-Christian Basilica of Cimitile, the palace of the Medici in Ottaviano, the Water Park of Pomigliano d’Arco, the Gran Cono of Vesuvius. Location thousand and one night July 15 to 20 will host international stars and local talent.

Starring 2014 edition of the festival will be saxophonist Kenny Garrett with his quintet, trumpeter Tom Harrell with training in two low, the Volcan project, the supergroup Gonzalo Rubacalba with Horacio ‘Negro’ Hernandez, Giovanni Hidalgo and Armando Gola, pianist Michele Campanella and the Argentine saxophonist Javier Girotto, the French accordionist Richard Galliano, guest Marco Zurzolo, and even the musicians of the Anglo-Italian project “Lifestories“, “Locus Mood“, “Travelongue“, the quintet Stefano di Battista, the Tricatienpo and Alessio Bertallot.

Continue then also the action of “Green Jazz” project to reduce the environmental impact of the festival, working with Slow Food and Agro Nolan Vesuvius. We also organize trips to farms and taste workshops, exhibitions and “listening guides” of jazz, children’s activities. All events are free (except for the concerts of Benson, Garrett and Galliano). The festival is organized by the Foundation Pomigliano Jazz and the City with the co-financing of the Tourism Regional, Mibact, Vesuvius National Park Authority and the municipalities of the area involved.
