Solopaca celebrates the thirty-seventh edition of the Grape Festival

The traditional Sunni festival, now in its 37th edition, is held, in fact, since the eighteenth century when the local Brotherhood was used to celebrate the Feast of Our collecting donations of decorated carts. Offers that given the era, they were mainly represented by clusters of grapes. The crop was then sold and the proceeds used by the brothers. But let’s get to our times.

The protagonists of the week solopachese are without doubt the beautiful floats made ​​by master “carraioli” Solopaca on Sunday 14 parade in procession to be appreciated and above all voted by those present. The amazing thing is that the “subjects” of the wagons are all built with … grapes, selected one by one according to the size, color, and their gradients.

The wise use of these beans allows, in fact, to achieve true works of art ready to color the streets of the small town of Benevento. What Solopaca, in short, is a veritable hymn to grapes in all its beauty. The same delicate grapes from which the wine is obtained then capable of very high quality standards. The same people who have earned the designation of origin.
