The International Exhibition of Mediterranean Diet opens its doors in Cilento

Three days to talk about health and local excellence. This opportunity is offered by the International Exhibition of Mediterranean Diet plan in Vallo della Lucania (Salerno), Cilento, 21 to 23 November. The event is organized by the Consortium Cilento Incoming under the auspices of the Tourism of the Region of Campania, Province of Salerno, Salerno EPT, Unioncamere, the City of Vallo della Lucania and the Regional Observatory on the Mediterranean Diet. Three days full of meetings that will address the many aspects of the Mediterranean diet, from its birth to the decision to include it among the UNESCO intangible heritage, from nutritional aspects to those related to health and the prevention of various diseases. One hundred and fifty companies involved, catering establishments 5, 6 foreign countries invited to participate, you’re divas show cooking space will be given to recipes of Mediterranean cuisine and tasting of excellence.

“The Exhibition – said the Regional Councillor for Tourism, Pasquale Sommese – must be structured beyond Expo 2015 and must look carefully to the extraordinary beauty that we have. Å our task to build a thick mesh pattern in which the story of our beauty and those of the Mediterranean Diet understood as quality of life are intertwined”. “We have to look at – he added – as well as Expo and take advantage of the opportunities of EU funds for projects integrated”.
On the occasion of the exhibition will be presented the Award “Ancel Keys Poplar, health and longevity” Carrie D’Andrea Keys, daughter of the American biologist who first identified the benefits of the Mediterranean diet.
