From 2 to 23 July, the big screen “married” to turn dance, music, circus and theater, thanks to the exhibition “The Cinema and other arts”, which will see the exceptional location of Sofia Multiplex in Pozzuoli and Cinema Filangieri in Naples.
An intense program, with free admission, funded by the Campania Region and promoted by an ATS (Temporary Association of Companies) led by America Cinema Srl, which will start from 2 to 8 July to Sofia with titles ranging from “Jesus Christ Superstar”, transposed to the big screen of the musical of the same name, “Black Swan” with Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel passing by “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. Also in the section dedicated to dance, Saturday, July 4, at 22.15, in Sofia, the Cultural Association Korper, will present “Dancing in the frame”, dance performance inspired by the movie “All That Jazz”, “Chicago” and “Sweet Charity”.
Next, the section Cinema and Music (9-15 in Sofia) that proposes a series of such masterpieces as “The violinist of the devil” on the life of Niccolo Paganini or “Quartet2, the film that marks the directorial debut of Dustin Hoffman. In this context, Saturday, July 11, at 22.15, will perform the Uanema Orchestra in a concert inspired by the most famous film scores.
For the section dedicated to cinema and theater, between 14 and 19 July, the Filangieri, browse titles like “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “The Merchant of Venice” with Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons. For this section, Theatres States will present a preview of Sunday, July 19, at 21, “Kosmograph” staged reading of Andrea Renzi from “The Notebooks of Serafino Gubbio operator” by Luigi Pirandello.
The first phase of the project “The Cinema and other arts” will close the festival dedicated to cinema and Travelling Show, July 16 to 23 to Sofia, offering rarities such as “Keystone”, the first film of the American experience of co-star Gina Lollobrigida here with Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster or “The Circus (Parade)”, film directed by Jacques Tati, but also “Worlds Away” by Cirque du Soleil. For this section, Friday, July 17, at 21, Chiaradanza will present “The wings of the butterflies”, the show of juggling and acrobatics with Claudio Javier Benegas.
